An Austrian Wedding Ceremony in Salzburg

Updated: Sep 27

Last month I was absolutely thrilled to head to Bad Gastein for an Austrian wedding ceremony in the Mountains for Ash and Lena. Having learnt German for 7 years at A-Level, I was excited to use my German speaking abilities again.

I worked with the Bride's brother who translated my wedding ceremony script in full and we delivered the ceremony together. Lena said her I Do's and the ring exchange part in German and there were sentences throughout that I also got to share in German.

Bad Gastein Wedding Ceremony Venue

The couple chose Hotel de l'europe in Bad Gastein as their wedding venue. It's a magnificent building that was the inspiration for Wes Anderson's Grand Budapest Hotel. The ceremony room was located downstairs and had beautiful views of the Preimskirche church.

Within their ceremony, we shared stories in English and German of how they got together, adventure's they have shared so far and personal promises (which included the groom learning how to make an Aperol Spritz!)

We ended the ceremony with a kiss and a handtying before the couple signed their keepsake wedding certificate.

European Wedding Celebrant Laura Bell

So I guess I can officially call myself a European Celebrant or even, an International Wedding Celebrant after this beautiful experience.

Huge thanks to a dream team of suppliers I had the pleasure to work with:
